What Are Effective Treatments for Overcoming Anxiety?

What Is The Best Way To Overcome Anxiety?

Is Overcoming Anxiety Possible Or Not?

Your main objective is overcoming anxiety when you are dealing with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorders can cause disruptions in your everyday life, especially in your everyday activities and relationships. Therefore, overcoming anxiety and dealing with your anxiety disorder as quickly and efficiently as possible is best in order to return to the life you had before developing the anxiety disorder. There are several methods that could aid you in overcoming anxiety. One method is self-help methods. For some people, self-help methods will be enough in overcoming anxiety. However, it is important to note that self-help methods will only reduce your anxiety levels, not deal with the underlying cause of your anxiety. Some effective self-help techniques to overcoming anxiety include the following techniques:

Dealing with your worry and anxiety in more productive ways - This involves challenging irrational worrisome thoughts, learning how to postpone worrying about things, and learning to accept uncertainty in your life.
Making any necessary anxiety-reducing lifestyle changes - This includes eliminating caffeine, beginning an exercise program, improving your diet, and drawing on the support of your family and friends.
Learning and practicing relaxation techniques - This includes deep breathing and meditation. As you increase your ability to relax, your nervous system will become less reactive and you will not be as vulnerable to stress and anxiety.

Learning how to self-soothe is another effective way to overcoming anxiety. Many people dealing with anxiety disorders do not know how to calm and soothe themselves. Learning how to do this is easy and can make a great difference in your ability to overcome anxiety. The best methods for self-soothing incorporate one or more of your physical senses, the senses of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste.

Sight - Look at a beautiful view, take a walk in a beautiful neighborhood, admire art at an art museum, or look at an interesting picture book.
Sound - Listen to soothing music, enjoy nature, such as birds singing or ocean waves crashing on the beach.
Smell - Light scented candles, smell flowers outdoors, breathe in clean, fresh air, or spray on your favorite perfume.
Touch - Pet your cat or dog, take a warm bubble bath, wrap yourself in a soft blanket, feel the cool breeze, or get a massage.
Taste - Cook a delicious meal, eat a favorite treat slowly so you can savor each delectable bite, or enjoy a hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa.

Question :

My personality - can t see the wood for the tree s?

Hi,

I wondered if you would mind helping me with a few hurdles I can t seem to overcome in my life a the moment. They are really getting me down, so any positive advice you could give me would be great - on any aspect of the below - I realise there is a lot. I have managed to pull myself out of a period of depression although I feel I m walking a tightrope of happiness at the moment.

Friends. It s my Birthday tomorrow. My best friend is away in Africa, so I text about 5 people who I regularly go out with (with my best friend). Only 2 text back and only 1 actually called me to meet. I mention this because this is very typical of my friendships. I ve been trying to analyse why, but can t see the wood for the tree s. I appreciate it is difficult to give advice without knowing the full picture, but maybe you could throw me some questions to consider which might help me figure out why I don t have close friends that will actively contact me? I am friendly, kind, make people laugh, can relate to people, talk no problem with these people. I know I should take note of what is going on in their life more and maybe text them to keep up to date more, but feel awkward doing this as I don t really know them. My best friend is going travelling for a year in two months, so I really need to solve this one!

Work. I ve been very unhappy in my job for a long time due to a bullying boss. I m not the type to dwell and feel sorry for myself, I would rather make a proactive change, so I started a business while still working there with the ambition of doing it full time. I always wanted to run a business (and I have to admit I had the fantasy of being as successful as Branson). I came back to earth with a bump after working stupidly long hours and after drinking one night, I woke up with extreme anxiety. Couldn t do anything the whole weekend. This was all at the time that I have managed to secure a part-time job back at my old place of work. I then went into a really negative place. I wasn t sleeping. My family didn t know what had happened. My mum always saw me as this very successful person who was very confident. And I was up until this point. I turned down the job because I wasn t in the right place to make the decision and run my business along side it. I needed to figure out what had just happened and get back to normal. It would be fair to say that my biggest worry with running a business is that I worry to much (ha the irony). Yes I can be super confident, but boy can I worry too - although never like this anxiety - I could overcome it and succeed. This anxiety was debilitating. I hoped that once the decision to not take the job was out the way, I would be back to my normal self. That hope was not realised. I now find myself in a strange dilemma of which I cannot see a real feasible solution. In the lead up to all this, I told everyone how I was going to be running my business full time and quitting my job in the near future. I am lucky enough to be staying in a place where the lady is supporting my financially to make the transition. My mum wants me to be a success. People keep asking at work when I am leaving. But the anxiety is nagging at me the whole time - reminding me of the points that will make me fail - my lack of attention to detail - my lack of listening skills - I will be lonely working alone - I am too anxious to come up with creative ideas (my business is i the creative arts) - and to a large degree, these anxieties are not unfounded (although the work I have produced on my business has been praised). It is make much worse because I am now quite consumed in my own mind trying to figure out how I feel and why these things are happening to me that I am making many more mistakes and damaging relationships in the meantime - i.e. leaving the cooker on and annoying my landlady who is supporting me. What they do though is stop me from launching into my business and keep me in a job I am not happy with. I know I am avoiding the issue at the moment and I can only do this for so long! What will I do if I don t do my business and how will that make me feel?

Love life. I realised the other day that I am definitely not over my ex or simply that I crave another relationship, which seems so allusive at the moment. Be happy in myself and others will love me. I know this is true, but there is something else going on which I am not sure yet how to deal with. I have recently been diagnosed with Rosacea which has been getting gradually worse. At it s worst it deforms the face, presently it is a red angry patch on the cheeks. It is chronic and not curable. It can be treated with antibiotics, but they only take away the pustules, not the red and this is a long term treatment and long term use of antibiotics is not good. I have tried various natural remedies, but they have not worked. Needless to say this is not helping my anxiety or to achieve my dreams
Answer :
ok, you say you have pulled out of your depression but it doesn t sound that way to me. to me, you sound depressed and panicky. your extreme anxiety is something you need to control so i suggest a visit to your doctor. you need to tell your doctor everything you ve put down here. are you on any medication? if you are then perhaps it needs changing and if you are not then i m willing to bet that your doc will put you on something to control your nerves and depression.
until your nerves are controlled you ll never be able to make a success of your business because you ll be too busy panicking about it!
and never mind your ex right now - relationship complications are the last thing you need right now, so just please try to put these aside until you have dealt with your other issues.
take the meds for your skin problems and worry about the red patches later - there are green tinted bases out there btw that even out skin tone - but the red patches are not your main concern right now.
so all in all, please visit your doctor, he ll be able to help you put things in perspective. good luck.
Question :

How can I put my test anxiety at ease?

I have really bad test anxiety. I blank out, freeze, my heart races, I shake uncontrollably. I have failed many tests due to this problem. I failed my road test because it had the word test in it. I failed my final exam last semester. I am going to school to be a nurse and exams ar every important and I want to overcome this so that I can succeed.

Any help would be great.
Answer :
You need to release all this energy and tension before you go to class to take this exam. Try running, exercising, don t drink any caffiene before you go, listen to calming music, but mostly you need to let go of the stress by using that energy you build up inside you. Drink lots of water, and remember, just breathe.
