Everything You Need to Know about Narcissists, Psychopaths, and Abuse - click on this link: www.narcissistic-abuse.com Psychopaths are irresponsible and unreliable. They do not honor contracts, undertakings, and obligations. They are unstable and unpredictable and rarely hold a job for long, repay their debts, or maintain long-term intimate relationships. Psychopaths are vindictive and hold grudges. They never regret or forget a thing. They are driven, and dangerous. Always in conflict with authority and frequently on the run, psychopaths possess a limited time horizon and seldom make medium or long term plans. They are impulsive and reckless, aggressive, violent, irritable, and, sometimes, the captives of magical thinking, believing themselves to be immune to the consequences of their own actions. Thus, psychopaths often end up in jail, having repeatedly flouted social norms and codified laws. Partly to avoid this fate and evade the law and partly to extract material benefits from unsuspecting victims, psychopaths habitually lie, steal others' identities, deceive, use aliases, and con for "personal profit or pleasure" as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual puts it. Answer :
online dictionary...:

Source(s):

no they do not mean the same thing
Question :

What do you think distinguishes a sociopath, psychopath, borderline personality & antisocial personality?

I know there is a lot of overlap between all of these terms, and I do have background on these topics. The reason I am interested is because I would consider a sociopath more of a high functioning psychopath and a female sociopath as someone who is more of a borderline personality. I know these are somewhat vague generalizations, but I m curious nonetheless. Opinions? I am just really fascinated with this personality type...
Answer :
Well I ll try and answer as best I can

Sociopath - cold and does not care about anyone s well-being but their own. "Fearless" one could describe them as they do not apply public or social rules to themselves.

Psychopath - Crazy (I don t know much but I think the name speaks for itself)

Borderline personality - Isn t this similar to Bipolar Disorder? I think it s a manic type of personality disorder that doesn t range so much on breaking the law like being a sociopath does.

Antisocial personality - I would say is more isolating than sociopath as well. Sociopaths, unlike those with A.S. personality, are able to manipulate, convince, and charm those around them. People with A.S. personality skip the small talk and go right for the juggular in the figurative sense.
Question :

Have you ever met a sociopath/psychopath (someone with antisocial personality disorder)?

Got any stories?
Answer :
Yes, several. They could be motivated to do good things as long as you were able to show them how it benefitted their self-interests.
